:: My Wife Is Always Angry ::

by:

MasyaAllah beautiful answer! Read on peeps..

Question:
My wife and I are newly married, and I feel she is always angry with me.  During the planning of the wedding, I thought her moodiness was due to the stress of the wedding. However, her frustration has continued into our marriage. The smallest of things that I say or do, which in my mind appear to be innocent enough, make her angry to the point that she refuses to speak to me.

:: Why People Leave Each Other? ::

When I was 17 years old, I had a dream. I dreamt that I was sitting inside a masjid and a little girl walked up to ask me a question. She asked me: “Why do people have to leave each other?” The question was a personal one, but it seemed clear to me why the question was chosen for me.
I was one to get attached.
Ever since I was a child, this temperament was clear. While other children in preschool could easily recover once their parents left, I could not. My tears, once set in motion, did not stop easily. As I grew up, I learned to become attached to everything around me. From the time I was in first grade, I needed a best friend. As I got older, any fall-out with a friend shattered me. I couldn’t let go of anything.

:: 31st May 2011 ::

Its that day again.. My 32nd birthday.. woot woot!!!

Long ago, i would be wishing for a surprise karaoke celebration attended by loads of friends with loads of presents.. Long ago, i would wish for a huge bouquet of flowers to be delivered to my office by my other half, followed by a grand dinner and an expensive present when I get home.. Long ago I was naive. Long ago I was immature.

This year, he asked me what I want for my birthday and in a heartbeat, I replied 'nothing', coz i already have everything that I could ever wish for. And the amazing thing is, i meant it. i really did.

I am content with my life and am truly thankful for it.

I have a beautiful, loving and caring family.. My parents and brothers, they were and still are my greatest fan and supporter.. And now i have my in-laws who love me, and care for me and treat me with respect and love..

I have a wonderful husband. With whom I feel safe and loved. A husband who knows his responsibilities and works hard to provide for his family.. A husband who knows how to make me laugh my head off.. (a friend from MMU once asked me (and i think it was recorded) "apai, describe your dream guy" I said, "bald, tall & funny! Most importantly, FUNNY!"). That affirmation became a reality when I married my husband. I guess its true when they say, speak only of good things as what you say is your 'doa' and will eventually become your reality.

I have a beautiful baby growing inside of me.. A gift from Allah that I am truly thankful for. Every kick brings a smile to my face.. Knowing that he will be here in Ramadhan makes it much more meaningful. InsyaAllah its a boy, and going to be born in August. We are going to name him after my late brother, Faizal (who was born on 16 August 1980). I'm praying for his health and I'm praying for Allah's guidance for me in becoming a great mom..

I have a beautiful shelter, near my office and hubby's shop, a safe home, not too big and not too small, just nice for us..

I have a stable job, where I get to practice what I believe in.. Where I can fight for the environment and get paid for it.. Where I can go diving and be considered as working..

I have loving friends. Friends from my primary school in Johor, from secondary school in SBPS, Sabah & SIGS, JB.. Friends from MMU, friends from Flare, Air Asia, Emirates, CIMB, Royal Selangor and Edaran. Friends whom I met along the way.. Horse riding friends, Diving Friends.. Friends who support and stick with me when I hit rock bottom.. Friends who celebrate and laugh with me when I'm at the top of my world.. Most importantly, friends who are honest and love me for who I am.. As friends, we grew together and we embrace each other's change and advancement.. These are the friends who will be with me till the day I draw my last breath.. To those 'friends' whom I've lost along the way, thank you for making my life meaningful when you were in it.. Good luck in your life and should our paths crossed again, I hope we will be vibrating at the same level.

So Alhamdulillah! I am counting my blessing! May this year bring much happiness and wisdom from the Almighty.

When one man, for whatever reason, has the opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

:: My Happy Places ::

Hey beautiful and kind people of the world!! Wasssaaaappppp!!!!

Today, I'm psyched! Could be because of a few reasons:

1- I now have a new boss.. (long overdue, I know) and he is the direct opposite of my ex boss.. my ex boss was evil, this new one is extra super humble and polite.. my ex boss was a liar and corrupt, this new one is pious and honest.. I've known him for quite some time and honestly, he is one of the most humble human being on the planet.. I dont know that many people, especially those with wealth, stature and title, who would stop and bow his head slightly every time he sees me.. and say, with an honest smile.. "cik apai, apa kabar?".

2- The small family gathering at home last night.. Mak, Abah, Mama, Kamal, Ayed & me, we enjoyed wonderful food from Saba.. Nothing much, but I really enjoyed it.. We had a great laugh, updated each other and talked about everything under the sun.. Now that was quality time with family to me..

3- I managed to organize my pictures in this lappy. And I found loads and loads of pictures that brought a smile to my face.. I love it!! It makes me realize that my life is actually blessed. Blessed with my in-laws who are all nice and respectful.. I am blessed with a husband who loves me and share the same passion, that is scuba diving.. I'm blessed with parents who are always supportive in whatever I do, brothers who are very loving and respectful of me.. Actually, now that I think of it, never once, and I mean NOT EVEN ONCE have we argued! How amazing is that! Yeah we disagree on things sometimes but somehow we can talk and discuss about things and when we cant find an agreement, we turn the subject into a joke.. We respect each other's opinion all the time. Never once have I raised my voice in anger to neither of my brothers because they showed me the utmost respect deserved by an older sister. They were there during my ups and downs, always supporting and comforting.. I couldnt ask for more, seriously!

Well anyway, there will definitely be another post about my brothers soon.. In the mean time, enjoy these random pictures, which happen to be my favorites.. Never fail to bring a smile to my face..

So Smile People!! And Say Alhamdulillah..

Take Care of each other..

No, this is not those kind of post where I ramble about how people are different and everyone has their own unique characteristic and that's what makes the world a better place to live in..

This post is about my birthmark. Yup I have a distinguish birthmark on my right arm.

When I was little, the mark was smaller, rounder and darker (maybe because I was fairer back then). I was somehow conscious about it in school since everyone kept on asking about it. They asked questions like "apa tu?" or "kena air panas ke tu?" or "eh, tangan ko kotor aa.."

A boy called me 'si tompok' at school. Crazy, irritating boy! He would gather his friends and started shouting 'OI SI TOMPOK!!' from across the school field. (OMG! I hated that boy so much!!)

At one point, I wanted to wear long sleeves all the time to cover it. I was tired of hearing questions and remarks about my birth mark. I might have mentioned it to my mom and being a wonderful, beautiful mother that she is, she started telling me how I'm one of the luckiest girl in the whole world because I was born with that mark on my arm.

"Kalau hilang, mak nak cari senang.. takyah cari susah2.. tengok tangan je dah tau anak mak yang mana satu.." she said with that great smile of hers. "Lagipon, mana ada orang lain yang dilahirkan dengan jam.. only u.." she would add. That restored my self esteem. I started drawing numbers and strap on my arm. When anybody asked about my birth mark, I would show them gladly and said "this is my watch. I was born with it!".

My dad, a loving father that he is would hold my arm and 'analyse' the mark and started to tell me how the mark looks like the map of Australia, Singapore or any other country that he can conjure at that moment.

Time passed and I managed to turn a deaf ear to all the remarks about my precious mark. In fact, I have forgotten about it until the day I went to a cabin crew interview with Malaysia's full service airline. After passing all the stages, including the grooming test, after waiting for more than 7 hours, the head interviewer called me up and told me that I would have to surgically remove my birth mark if I really want the job. In my heart, I was cursing him. F him. Never in this lifetime would I remove something I regard as special on my body. So I said to him, its ok, I'm not that desperate. I'm sure other airlines can look beyond my birthmark and notice my potential.

So off I went to another full service airline from Singapore and Dubai. The airline for Singapore accepted me but told me to cover it with foundation or concealer every time before flight. Because of that experience, I 'declared' my birth mark during the early stage of interview with the airline from Dubai. And surprisingly, all I got was a puzzled look. The head interviewer said with raised eyebrows, "So?". An international airline, among the highest paying airline in the world is not even slightly bothered with what everyone else think as a birth defect. I got in despite of the birth mark.

Well, anyway, time passed and once again I sort of forgot about it. I didn't even notice it anymore. And I realize that when I don't think about it, people don't think about it.

But yesterday, when I was in the 'kamar kecil', idly, I looked at my right arm. And realized that I have forgotten about my birth mark! Seriously my heart skipped a beat. As though I was seeing it for the first time. I have forgotten about something that makes me different from anyone else..

So today, I'm appreciating my birth mark again. I'm glad I have it. I'm never gonna be me without it.

Again, after more than 20 years, I'm wearing the watch that I'm born with...

Take care peeps.. Luv ya!

:: Project AWARE Celebrities ::

Great Sunday Everyone!!

I know I mentioned in my last post that I have no desire to talk about our reception, but in light of this new information, I have to tell a little bit about the event..

See, our aim when planning the reception was to do it moderately, with the environmental friendly concept in mind.. which means to focus and spend more on good food, and do the rest ourselves. So I did my own make up and hair, got Hajar (my SIL) to design the card and printed it on recycle paper ourselves (without envelope because nobody keeps envelope right? so why not save some trees), and as for door gifts, we decided to educate our guests.. At the same time, we want the door gift to really portray 'us' as a couple.

Since we both love diving so much (and the fact that we met underwater in Redang), we commissioned a friend of mine (Mims) to draw (or stoodle as she calls it) a picture of us diving. The stoodle turned out great! We printed that stoodle on a brown bag, which by the way costs us around RM6 for a bag of 100pcs brown bags.. on the reverse side, we printed something that we think everyone should know.. 5 ways to help protect the coral reefs.. On our first draft, I listed 10 equally important ways to save the reefs but since the bag was not big enough, we slashed it to 5.

The reason we chose the brown bag other than its super cheap, is because we just wanted the bag to be a medium for our real gift, which is the knowledge/awareness as well as 3 pieces of bahulus made by my mom.. And even if people were to chuck the bag away just after they enjoy the bahulus and read the information, I wouldnt feel the heartache.. Hopefully they're gonna take the information printed on it and keep it with them for the rest of their lives..

Now for the bahulus, they were made by my mom. Since at that time she was seriously planning to start a bahulu business after her retirement, we thought that the least we could do was to help her advertise her business.. So again, we designed a simple card for the bahulus. I did a short story, just like I would write a blog, and place it in the bag, together with the bahulus of course.

the front cover - click on pic to enlarge

the story - click on pic to enlarge

the story - click on pic to enlarge

We glued the handle made of 'tali guni' ourselves and begged our friends to help us insert the bahulus in the brown bag..

Well anyway, a few days after the ceremony, we had a chance to visit the MIDE (Malaysian International Dive Expo) in PWTC. It was there that I approached the Aware Project counter and told them about our little bag. They were so thrilled by our effort and insisted that we posed with the bag for them.

Long story short, we were featured in their blog and website.. (The 'chinese' bit was incorrect but what the heck..). So check it out!! This made it all worth it!! Our plan to educate only our guests turned out to be more than that.. We wouldnt have done it any other way! We couldnt ask for more..

So thats it! Thats how we became project AWARE celebrities.. Which is way better than appearing in Vogue for us..

Enjoy peeps!!

:: Wedding Ceremony in General ::

Hey gorgeous people!!

Its been ages, I know.. I've been wanting to write but somehow I managed to create millions of excuses not to.. Well, the truth is, I miss it.. I miss this.. I miss just letting my head free and ramble on about everything under the sun..

Ok enough of that.. Now lets talk about the recent activities.. (where do I start???)

I am now married.. the ceremony was held in July. 10th was the solemnisation in Bangi & 17th was the reception in FRIM. (since we are both from KL, we did it only once)

To tell you the truth, I have no desire to go into details about the ceremony.. To me, a wedding ceremony is just a ceremony.. People are often blinded by the desire to make the ceremony as memorable as possible. But does memorable equals expensive? I seriously dont think so.. To me, a memorable ceremony is a ceremony done differently than others.. a ceremony that doesnt succumb to the stereotype.. one that is personal, matches the couple's lifestyle.

If the couple loves bling2, then their memorable ceremony should feature a lot of diamonds and sparkly thing.. if the couple loves cars, then their memorable ceremony should somehow incorporate the cars.. For us, we love diving, outdoor and nature. We strongly uphold the environmental friendly lifestyle as our way of life and therefore our memorable ceremony was held in FRIM. (We were thinking to do it in Redang but because of the logistic and cost, we dismissed the idea).

Now the costing.. why do people think that getting married will cost you an arm and a leg? Is our society too obsessed with what people think and say? I heard recently about a couple who is getting hitched in a 80,000 ringgit wedding ceremony.. That is not including hantaran, mas kahwin & honeymoon. Why??? The couple is of an average income family and the money they used is actually a loan from a bank.. Why spend all those money for something that will only last 5 hours? Wouldnt it be more wonderful to spend the money for a honeymoon? or a new house?

Is it worth starting a new life with a new partner with loads of debts? For what? For a night of glory? No thanks..

And then there's this thing I heard of late called 'pre-wedding photo-shoot'.. Why people? Whyyyy?? That photo-shoot alone would cost more than 1K.. Then the couple would still do a photo-shoot on the solemnisation day and then again on the reception day.. The whole photo-shoots would then sum up to more than 3K. And that is if they use an average photographer. If they were to use a more experienced shooter with a strong portfolio, of course the fee would be higher. But that is beside the point. Why pre-wedding? Why do you want to pay people to document you touching, hugging and committing sins with your partner before you become legally partners?

I understand the non-muslims doing it.. They are not MUSLIMS! enough said. Clearly muslims are forbidden to even be alone with the partner.

All in all, I support all those who wanna get married, as long as it is done in moderation and done because of the right reasons.. When a wedding ceremony is done to show your wealth and to be boastful, then it can become sinful...

p/s: ingat 3 perkara yang mesti dipercepatkan! 1) membayar hutang 2) mengebumikan orang mati 3) mengahwinkan anak perempuan.

wallahualam..

:: Horses and Beaches ::

Aside from my family and my love, I am very passionate about the horses and beaches. The horses make me happy inside that no words can explain and the calmness I get when I'm on the beach is just bliss. When horses and beaches are combined, wouldn't it be priceless.

En Penn's stable in cherating is the only place i can think of where there are horses and beaches.

Therefore, I'm seriously considering doing a second reception in cherating. Boleh ke En Penn? Pleaseeee...

:: The Question & The Answer ::

I think most of you, especially those who are close to me, are aware of my future planning. I got mixed responses for this. Some say its too early, some say they are happy for me.
To me, its simple. I have no guarantee that this is going to work out 100%. And I have no guarantee that it wont work either. I just can keep working on being a better person for him n for me.

I mean, how long do you have to know a person before you decide? Do years of courtship really do determine your level of happiness with a person? I dont think so..

I have been asking this exact same question to a few people when they asked for my hand in marriage. (not at the same time of course). "Why do you want to marry me?". I've had a lot of answers. Some I liked and some I despised. When I asked him the question, He answered "Nak elak dosa & nak tambah pahala". Need i say more?

One of my close friend called me yesterday and said "U tak serik ke pai? U baru je kanal dia!" I am thankful that he cares and concern. But what should I do? Be 'serik' and never get married again? Or stay in a relationship with him for a few years and then consider marrying him? Why cant we date after marriage?

Is it really our position to arrange our lives? After all, to quote a dear friend of mine, "Allah dah buat akaun kita siap-siap dah even sebelum kita dilahirkan. Cuma cara kita acquire those things yang memberi kita dosa dan pahala, n berkat & tak berkat kehidupan kita ni.."

Wallahualam..

Dari Abdullah ibnu Amar ibnu Al-Ash r.huma meriwayatkan saya mendengar Rasulullah salallahu a'laihi wasallam bersabda:
Telah ditulis oleh Allah takdir seluruh makhluk 50,000 tahun sebelum Dia menciptakan langit dan bumi. Baginda juga bersabda: Dan ArasyNya berada diatas air. (H.R. Muslim)

Dari Anas r.huma meriwayatkan, bahawa Rasulullah salallahu a'laihi wasallam bersabda:
(H.R. Tarmizi).

:: Touchy Touchy ::

Sehari dua ni aku cam cepat lak terasa hati. Orang cakap sikit je terus rasa sedih. Terus cam nak nangis. Padahal kalau difikir2 balik dengan fikiran yg waras, menda yang dikatakan tu no biggie sebenarnya.

Why? I dunno. My best assumption is maybe the monthly visitor is coming very soon kot. Whatever the reason is, I'm tired of feeling this way. Tak rock aa!!

So to those who are close to me, kalau korang nampak aku cam terasa hati tu, just let me be for a bit. With time, I usually will recover to my normal state. Tapi kalau nak pujuk boleh gak.. hehe

Ok peeps.. take care! And be happy!

I need the beaches.. I need the sand.. I need oxygen form the tank..

Or maybe I just need a good retail therapy?

Or movie marathon?

HELP!!

:: Alhamdulillah ::

An interesting job offer just presented itself in front of him yesterday.. Doing something that he's good at.

I for one is excited for him. Partly because it somehow will lessen his worries and burden.. And partly because it proves my point that monies and your thoughts work exactly opposite ways. When you worry too much, you will actually push the money away and when you go with the flow and not think too much about it, money will suddenly come from all directions. Just gotta have faith!

That being said, I cant help feeling anxious. I worry....

Now is the perfect time to remember what my sifoo used to say..
"99% of your worries never materialize!"
In fact, sometimes the negative thoughts are actually the work of the devil.. (so calm down apai!)

I guess I have to prepare myself.. I dont think I'll be seeing him that much, now that he's doing two jobs.. Ah well, as long as he treats me as sweet as he does now, I'm fine with it.. And besides, I've always admire and adore guys who work hard. Another point in my 'characteristics of my dream guy' ticked!

:: Rekindling Old Memories ::

Is it worth it to rekindle an old flame? Or is it easier just to find someone new with a clean slate?

I recently met a guy whom I have lost contact with since 7 years ago. We had a brief 'i like u, u like me' moment which we didn't really act upon. We were both young and were still trying to find ourselves and were not really serious in finding our partners in life. So finally we went our separate ways..

Time goes by and to be honest, I have forgotten all about him. Until recently. He found me on FB. (surprise, surprise..). We chatted for a while and yesterday we decided to meet up.

Seeing him again is refreshing. We have both matured, we have both gone thru a few lessons in life and we have both know (roughly) what we want to pursue. We chatted for the longest time.

Am I gonna have a relationship with this guy? I don't know.

Am I ready for a new relationship? I don't think so. (at least not now)

Do I want him as a friend? For sure.

I guess time will tell if we are really meant to be together..

Take care folks. Enjoy life!

:: Counting My Blessing ::

I have made it a point to not feel sorry for myself and not to let others feel sorry for me. I find it hard to accept pity from others.

When 'that' thing happened, I lost quite a handful of friends. Those who took his side, those who judged and decided that I was to blame for the whole thing, those who simply are idiotic.

I was crushed and fell to the bottom end and thought that the life that I've known and love has ended. I fell into the loneliness pit..

But that didn't last long.. I decided soon enough that I'm only gonna do things that I love. Associate myself with positive people, ask help from the Almighty and realign my mindset so that I only attract great things into my life. I kept on telling myself that all that has happened is a blessing in disguise and that I will someday look back and realize that what I experience is not that bad at all.. Compared to those who lost their family to the tsunami, those who lost a limb or those with a terminal disease, mine will be like a walk in the park.

True enough, not long after the tragedy, I landed a job that I've been dreaming of.. befriended friends who make me laugh and lift me up in an instant, found solution to the debt that was dumped on me and found new activities I've always wanted to do but didn't know how to before..

First horse riding, now diving.. I've yet to learn a lot of things about diving but so far I'm enjoying every minute of it. The people I've met are awesome.. They look beyond my flaws and my past, they appreciate my talents and they give me support and encouragement that I needed. The best thing is that they have thought me to just lay back and enjoy each moment as they come.. No more protocol, no issues about who's making more money or who's got a bigger car.

The best thing is that I'm being paid to dive and be by the beach. I am grateful for this job!. When I want to ride, they have a horse stable.. when I want to dive, well, I have to dive since its my project in Terengganu..

Moral of the story is, when you think that you've hit rock bottom, think again. There is always somebody else out there who's having a worst day than you.. Be patience because you never know what God is planning for you. Always be optimistic and think of only good things and good things will come you way.

At the same time, be grateful.. So, Alhamdulillah.. I am very very grateful for all my blessings..

Chow peeps.. Take it easy.. And take care of your loved ones..
